Plot & Story

In this part, we researched about the song Sheyel composed, and described what our narrative would consist of.

How and why was the song created?

The song Tendencia was released in 2021 but it was in 2020 when it was composed and created, talking with Sheyel he wanted his song to be both enjoyable but it was also essential for the song to be successful, this is because Sebastian was just beginning to create content and music, this is why he integrated the thematic of TikTok, this platform was extremely popular in this year, not only this but also a big amount of users of this social media are Sebastian's main audience. By mentioning Charlie Damelio he is also embracing this technique of exposure, Charlie Damelio was extremely popular at this date, she had over a 100 million followers, and using popular and massive trending subjects, can create a tremendous amount of exposure. Sheyel wanted to create a popular juvenile song, this method was very smart, it is very important for the audience to understand what the lyrics are about for them to enjoy them, this way the lyrics by themself make more sense, and this automatically makes them catchy. Teenagers are strictly focused on what they like, they are exploring this thing and normally show little interest in other things, so for a song to be popular it has to be familiar and in their current interest, like in this case TikTok.

What will our plot consist of?

On the other hand, this song expresses love and admiration for a woman, in this case, this information is not for exposure, but this theme facilitates our idea of creating a storyline video. For this video we want to create a narrative about a couple that is going through a hard moment. We wanted to switch the roles and make the woman have all the power over the man. A brief summary of the plot is that there is a teenager named Carlos, fighting with his inner feelings about how he feels for Gloria. It's not easy for both of the characters, they are both in vulnerable positions and are both confused about how the other feels about each other. Along with the narrative we wanted to include some of the iconic things that the genre has, this is why we decided to include short clips of parties, dancing, and lip-syncing. We thought this video idea fit perfectly with what they wanted to create for this song. since we strongly believe that it represents what lots of teenagers are going through, experiencing romance anxiety and the idea of wanting to have fun. By making a representation of some of the things this age range experiences we are able to direct this video strictly to the audience intended.
