Characters
These are the characters which will be present in our music video.

Carlos
Main male character, represents the male pursue to get the woman and shows how in reggaeton music videos the male’s main purpose is to conquer a woman.
He is wearing mostly all black clothing, which represents male’s seriousness and strength. Black clothing is used to show the stereotype of how male characters in reggaeton are usually very serious and seem strong, which is achieved by the use of this dark and bold colour.
We chose this actor because he is a young teenager, which makes the characters relatable for the audience who are also included in this age range. Additionally, he fits the stereotype of a conventionally attractive male, which is common in reggaeton music videos.
This actor is suitable for our audience because he helps to represent the people that listen to this type of music, making them feel connected to the story and relate to its characters.

Gloria
She is the main female character. Her main role is to represent the position of female characters in the genre, which is usually the person who is being pursued by the male character. This character achieves the role of sexualising women and portraying them as a sexual being, whcih fits the conventions of the genre.
This character wears all white clothing. This helps portray her as angelical and unreachable, which makes her stand out and make her seem like an object that someone else wants to get, sexualising her and portraying her as an object.
We chose this actor because she is young and conventionally attractive. She also has an attractive body, which fits reggaeton conventions about female characters. Sexualising women’s bodies is a key aspect in the genre’s conventions, therefore, this actor makes it easier for us to achieve that goal.
She is suitable for our genre because she is attractive and sexy, therefore we are able to sexualise her body and achieve to fit reggaeton’s conventions effectively. Additionally, she is a young latina, which is perfect for our video, as women in the genre’s music videos are usually young and attractive latinas, which create a stereotype about these people, and we are able to do the same for our project.

Dancers
The main role of the dancers in our music video is to mimic a typical reggaeton music video, which often includes choreographies intertwined with the narrative of the song. They also give the song a fast pace and a more energetic vibe.
The dancers are wearing baggy pants and a crop top. These clothing fit the stereotype of what a latina woman would wear, and the revealing top adds to the idea of women being portrayed as objects for men’s pleasure.
These dancers are suitable for our audience and genre as they are also young women, which represents the audience watching the video. Furthermore, they are all women, which fits in the genre, and they are also part of the hypersexualisation that happens both in our music video and the reggaeton genre in general.

Girls in Jacuzzi
The main role of these girls is to add to the music video the part of the lip-syncing, which is very traditional in the genre’s conventions. The nighttime setting in a jacuzzi portrays the atmosphere and vibe of night and partying, which adds a more energetic and nocturnal vibe to the song.
They are wearing bathing suits, which is a very revealing type of clothing. This is done to portray the theme of sensuality, which is crucial within the genre. It also adds on to the hypersexualisation of women and represents them as sexual beings.
These characters are very suitable for both our audience and genre. They are also young latinas, which fits the genre and exaggerates the stereotype of latina women being sexualised. They are also relatable for the audience as they are within the age range of this music’s listeners and it makes them feel represented in the storyline. Also, their revealing clothes help achieve an exaggerated sexualisation of women, following the genre’s characteristics and making the video successfully fit in into a typical reggaeton music video.
